Two kinds of people make up society's citizens: the religious and the secular. There are further divisions among those types as to philosophy  and morality.

As a Christian, I have a message for all types. From one Christian to another, I would remind that we are to be the salt of the earth. Salt is a preservative - it keeps something from spoiling. As a concerned citizen to those not religious or not Christian, I would say that as members of society, we all have responsibilities to society as a whole.

All of us members of society have more or less abdicated our duties as citizens out of complacency or hopelessness, or both. We have a duty to our children, if not our own generation, to provide a society that fosters integrity, truth, and justice. What kind of world do we complacently lead our children to? What future do we promise our children when we refuse to stand up to the lies and propaganda of those whose interests in spreading propaganda is merely self-serving?

Are we living for others by not standing up for the truth? Do we approve of the propaganda that bored "elites" throw at us in a never-ending stream of socio-political diarrhea? Silence is recognized worldwide as tacit approval. Silence feeds the lies that spoil society and hide the truth. Silence hurts those who are the future of society.

Us citizens have reached a point where the truth is embarassing, shameful, and a burden. We now apologize for having to bring up the truth. We now fear telling the truth lest we be ostracized from the rest of the sheep that blindly follow the lies of those who would only create a society of immorality and falsehood.

Where are the heroes? Where are those who would stand up and remind those others around him or her that what is being spread is propaganda and lies? Where is the individual who would desperately stand and shout at the top of their lungs the truth that almost all of us are content to ignore? Where is the rare person who looks for any excuse to proclaim the truth - not with shame and apology, but with pride?

Where is the outrage from those who believe in the truth when the liars open their dead mouths and spew the social poison that we have become so comfortable with? Have we resigned ourselves to the poison? The death?

Are we not dead already if we have so thoroughly become ashamed of the truth?

Lies cannot be defeated unless they are met with the truth. Lies allowed to stand become "truths" unless confronted, attacked, and shown to be the poisonous lies they are. Our society dies with each unanswered lie. Our children inherit a more desolate life with each established lie we have allowed to go unchallenged.

It is our duty as citizens to our children and our society to constantly reinforce and defend the truth.

Defending the truth is never easy under today's social conditions. It is easier to allow the lies to stand. It is simpler to just shake one's head and ignore the lies. It is more comfortable to let the lie become cemented in our society so that we can pretend to be a part of a "smooth" world.

Confronting the lies requires knowledge. The breadth of the lies spread throughout all of society and throughout every topic imagineable. The news media almost never reports the truth and is the standard-bearer of propaganda and lies. The government, even the conservative governments, take the easy way out by lying to its citizens or simply ignoring the uncomfortable issues rather than invoke the wrath of the lying media.

The lies are pervasive. The truth is almost non-existent. By choice, we have allowed the truth to be buried under decades of political propaganda-crap. Who dares stick their hands into such a dung-heap of time? Is it better to keep our hands clean by ignoring the truth smothering under all the lies?

As citizens, we all have a choice. We are all standing in front of the dung-heap of lies, that shit-pile (excuse me) of re-written history and current perceptions that cover and smother the truth. Dare we reach in out of pity? Dare we not reach in out of concern for our society? Dare we not rescue that which guarantees justice? Is it not time to avenge the truth? It is always time to avenge the truth. It is our sacred duty. It is our civic responsibility. Silence only makes us all murderers - the victim, truth.

I will stand up for the truth. I am sick of the lies. I am angry at the propaganda. I hate the deceptions. Battling the lies requires knowledge, as I said. Those who would fight the poison need to study, to prepare, to inform themselves outside of the media lest they stick their arms into the shit-pile of deceptions and become mired.

The truth can be rescued. The truth can be defended. I am not ashamed of the TRUTH. Just as I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, I will proclaim the word TRUTH and that which it represents wherever and whenever I can. I refuse to watch the truth die.
